You can start to get your puppy ready for Agility right away. Even though you do not want to train on most of the equipment there are many important foundation exersises that your puppy can and needs to learn and get prepared.
All dogs, regardless of breed, size, age or papers, can compete in Agility. Some breeds are more successful then others. Most have no problem enjoying and succeeding in this dog sport.
As long as your dog is healthy, you are willing to put the time and effort into training your dog there should be no reason not to start Agility training.
We have succsessfully trialed our dogs for many years to Master and Excellent levels in several Agility venues. We train using only positive methods. We never drag a dog on their leash over any equipment. This is dangerous and can create a unconfident dog.
